Global College Ambo has signed contractual agreement with IT&T Solutions PLC on 3rd October, 2022 for commissioning of highly robust end-to-end automated student information system that will fully transform the existing manual student information management to a full scale automated solution powered by software system. IT &T Solutions PLC is experienced vendor in the development and deployment of student information management system in Ethiopia. The vendor has started provision system usage training, which is the first phase toward the implementation of the system. The training entitled as ‘Student Information Management System (SIMS)’ will be given in collaboration with Global College’s ICT Directorate. The training is being given to all staffs of the registrar, head of the registrar and some of the staff from academic wing. The training is launched on February 11, 2023 and it will continue until the next day. According to information obtained from the college’s Public Relation Head, Dawit Negari (Assistant Professor), the planned two days training meets the expectations of Global College.
The objective of the training is to give awareness for Registrar and Academic staffs of the college regarding the automation of Student Information System.
The training enables the workers to:
- Organize accurate and reliable student data thereby reducing processing time.
- Avoid duplication of effort.
- Better management of student information of and use it for better service delivery
- Deliver better service to students, staff, and others
- Allow collaboration among the various units of the college and even between the college and other external organization like ETA, MoE, etc
